FAQ: Your Conference Checklist 2026

We’re less than a month away from the conference on April 18 & 19, 2026!

We’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions and answers so you’ll have everything you need when conference day arrives.

FAQ: Your Conference Checklist

Q: What is the After Hours Social at 7 West Cafe?

This relaxed evening is your chance to connect, unwind, and talk shop with fellow indie authors, speakers, and industry pros. Whether you want to dive deeper into the day’s panels, brainstorm marketing ideas, swap launch stories, or simply enjoy great company, this is an opportunity to network in a casual, low pressure setting.

Spots are limited to keep the atmosphere intimate and conversation friendly. This requires a seperate ticket and once tickets are gone, they’re gone! Reserve your seat and come ready to connect. Find the link in your purchase confirmation email footer.

Q: I’m interested in getting a first chapter critique from Editors Canada. Where do I sign up?

Editors Canada will be offering free first page edits and editing consultations to 16 TIAC attendees on a first-come first-served basis. Interested attendees will submit their work in advance of the conference and attend a 15 minute long pre-scheduled editing consultation between 10:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Sunday April 19, 2026 in the lobby of the TIAC conference.

Please send 1-2 pages of your recent work to info@editors.ca with the subject line “TIAC First Page Edit” by April 1 at 5 p.m. ET to secure an editing consultation on April 19.

Q: Where can I find my ticket?

Your ticket should have been sent to you via email at the time of purchase. If you can’t locate it, don’t worry! Simply reach out to us at hello@torontoindieauthorcon.com, and we’ll happily resend it.

Note: Check-in will be done by name, so the ticket itself isn’t necessary.

Q: Where is the conference located?

The conference will take place in Appel Salon on the second floor of the Toronto Reference Library. If the library appears closed, there will be a security guard in the front foyer who can let you in.

Q: How do I get there?

The easiest way to get to the Toronto Reference Library is by taking the TTC to Bloor-Yonge Station. Once you exit the subway, head up to the street level. At the Bloor-Yonge intersection, walk north along Yonge Street on the east side. The library will be just a 2-minute walk ahead.

Q: What time does the conference start and end?

The conference runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days. Registration opens at 8:30 AM each day. Please note that the library opens at 9:00 AM, so we kindly ask that you arrive no earlier than 8:30 AM to avoid waiting outside.

Q: What will be provided?

Please bring your own notebook or laptop, as well as a water bottle to stay hydrated. A list of nearby restaurants for lunch will be shared as we approach the event date.

Q: Do we need to book our workshop spots like in 2025?

No, because the Appel Salon is larger this year, advance workshop booking is no longer required. Workshops will be first come, first served, and there should be plenty of space for everyone.

Q: Is there parking available?

Yes, the closest parking garage is the Parking Indigo Toronto – Yonge and Bloor Garage.
